Learning Curve…

It’s July! I’m coming up on 16 months sober! I think that’s one of the greatest gifts I ever gave myself. I am able to live in the moment and accept feelings for what they are. Everything is not rainbows and unicorns, but I can manage now. Whatever discomfort I feel, I reach out; to family, a good friend, my congregation, or my AA group. I’ve said it once before and I’ll say it again. You are only as strong as your support. I don’t know what to talk about first here, so whatever gobbledygook comes from my fingertips, I hope it’s helpful, entertaining, and well it’s my blog and, I guess I can say whatever I want lol. It’s kind of like one of those situations do you want the good news first or the bad. So I’ll give it to you straight. A person I love dearly had a relapse. This person is family and I don’t want to put them on the spot. But I am very concerned, it weighs heavy on my heart. I’ve lost a lot of friends and family to addiction and mental anguish. Just so their spirit lives on I’ll mention their names in this post… You are gone and never forgotten… RIP (Jamie Lemelin, Joshua Burke, Johnny Medina, Matthew Killion, Andrew Fanion, Krysti Blanchard, and Mathew Vieu) Wow, typing their names is like they’re not gone, however, there is only silence and a deep appreciation that God introduced to each and every one of them.

C’mon cheesy country music, give me some strength right now. I’m listening to some country song “and this is where the cowboy gets bucked off” I don’t know who sings it, but it’s helping, resiliency. I still have to press on with this Every Rebel lifestyle and movement. This is the good part of the blog, Every Rebel is coming along, and people are coming together, and interested in raising awareness of mental health and addiction. We’re Officially in Business Meaning we’re on paper. I’m meeting some amazing people, and they have some pretty badass stories. Right now I’m lining up interviews and plan to put the interviews on our Facebook page, so you can see how they overcame/coped with obstacles, addiction, or mental illness.

Stay tuned there is more to come from Every Rebel!
